January 22, 2009 - Nexera Medical's SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3 Antimicrobial Respirator Mask passes Virucidal Testing for antimicrobial efficacy at RetroScreen Virology Ltd; a European Union certified testing facility. The tests were performed on Influenza A, Avian Influenza H5N1 (Bird Flu), Adenovirus, Human Rhinovirus (common cold), and Coronavirus (related to the SARS category of viruses). The tests concluded that these viruses were inactivated up to 99.4% in periods from 1 to 8 hours and H5N1 (Bird Flu) 43.77% upon immediate contact.

Varying inoculation concentrations of 0 to 6,000,000 units were tested within a time span of 0 hour to 12 hours. This antimicrobial evaluation for our SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3 Antimicrobial Respirator Mask against viruses coincides with previous positive test results for effective kill of bacteria, which was received from the Health Protection Agency in the European Union.
